Mahasamruddhi Mahila Sashaktikaran Scheme (MMSS) 2021 Aim
The MMSS scheme 2021, which will commence on International Women’s Day, is a deliberate action by the state government of Maharashtra to financially and morally support the women residing in the rural areas of the state.
Under this scheme, the self- help groups that exist in rural areas will help women execute and showcase their skills in proper manners. They will also provide them with sustainable markets and useful branding tools.
The self- help groups under this Welfare Scheme for Women have been assigned to arrange exhibitions to display the rural women’s work. The women will also be encouraged to participate across different fields. This scheme will also involve members of women cells at the village level as well as the state rural livelihood mission will also be involved.
The state government will provide women in the Self Help Groups with supportable markets and effective branding tools to promote their work and products for sale. Food products by Self Help Groups will be networked to a huge market chain. This will include government offices and canteens, malls, as well as private outlets. This move will enable women to earn a sufficient amount of income to support themselves as well as their families.
Skill development workshops will also be conducted. This will help the women to create more earning opportunities for themselves when they are well educated and have the skills for a certain task.
Special women’s markets will also be set up. Furthermore, the government has also planned to provide the beneficiaries with financial support, which will include low interest loans. Rural women entrepreneurs will also be given additional assistance in the form of cost free legal advice. Finally, sanitary napkins at low costs will be distributed under the state government’s Asmita Yojana.
